We all have potential. We all have possibility. Even when we feel lost, confused or alone, when we take a breath and go within, we find the potential to grow, evolve and blossom, even when times are challenging. Life, by its very nature, is inherently uncertain. As much as we might want to be sure of the outcome of our choices, we can never really know as life simply doesn’t work that way.

As mentioned previously, life is a kaleidoscope of moving parts, nothing staying the same, everything changing. Change is the one true constant in life and we can fight it, resist it or dig our heels in, but change still happens whether we want it to or not. It therefore seems important to create a positive relationship to change, to learn the empowerment of acceptance and to realise that true growth often comes when we face dead-ends, brick walls or potholes of challenge. Life rarely works out as we expect, and we can either choose to live each day in cautious fear, holding back for a better moment that’s unlikely to come, or we can choose to throw our hats into the ring and dance wholeheartedly with the ebb and flow of the uncertainty of life.

It’s important that we continue to honour, love and be compassionate, to not be isolated islands and to reach out to unify and unite. We shouldn’t focus on the things that divide us or tear us apart, we should focus on the things that can bring us together as one. It does take courage and resilience to be the lighthouse in stormy seas, it also takes strength to weather the storms, but if we can’t be there for each other then who can we be there for?
Life is a precious gift that so many of us take for granted. Many of us don’t even think about the magnificence of being human and the exhilaration of the opportunities we can explore. It’s very often only when doors start closing in on us through ill-health or other life challenges, do we begin to realise just how important it is to make the most of every single moment.

As the masks and façades continue to fall away to reveal the truth of our lives, there is a sense that many will feel truly lost and alone, so it’s more important than ever that we each use the power of our own experiences to reach out and offer a loving smile or a supportive hand if needed. Of course, many of us are also busy dealing with our own issues, but it seems so important to remember the need to come together as one.

As I’ve written many times before, it’s okay not to be okay; being vulnerable takes courage, but it can also be an enlivening, life-changing and positive experience as we re-discover the compassion and love that still flows even when we feel disconnected and disjointed with the flow of life. Sometimes we need to accept the status quo, to acknowledge exactly where we are before we can create change. This is much easier said than done as it means turning to face the pain of our reality, but surely to deny it or ignore it only leads to more pain? Of course, this is a personal choice, but from my own experience, it has only been through facing my reality head on (as uncomfortable as that has been at times) that I have evolved and found a deeper sense of peace.

We each need to live as consciously as possible; keeping on keeping on leaves us unable to see those moments of joy and amazement, and we quickly forget the wonder all around us. This isn’t to say that life is all a bed of roses, full of fluffy bunnies and candy floss, as it isn’t, but unless we choose to wholeheartedly open up to the joy then we run the risk of missing so much.

As we each continue to listen to the breath of life and the heartbeat of the earth, and as we find new ways to connect and evolve, there is a sense that living our best lives doesn’t involve being self-focused, self-absorbed or ticking off ‘to do’ lists. Nor is it about berating ourselves for not being good enough, successful enough, rich enough, slim enough or beautiful enough, it’s about lovingly opening up to the true beauty of life and finding a deeper level of love for ourselves and one another.

For now, I wish you all kinds of wonderful.

With love,
Sarah-Jane
