Danske Michael Bruun var en af ankermændene bag salget af Dong-aktier til Goldman Sachs. Nu er han blevet partner.

Danske Michael Bruun, der spillede en nøglerolle i forbindelse med salget Dong-aktier til Goldman Sachs, er netop blevet forfremmet til partner i den amerikanske investeringsbank.
Det skriver Berlingske Business.
Michael Bruun var en af Goldman Sachs' to ankermænd på investeringen i det statsejede energiselskab DONG Energy, der affødte massive folkelige protester i 2014.
Skandaleramt bank
Banken opkøbte aktierne gennem et selskab i skattelylandet Luxembourg.
Fire danske pensionskasser havde også tilbudt at købe aktierne i Dong Energy, men det blev afvist af daværende finansminister Bjarne Corydon (S).
Salget medførte en større politisk krise, hvor SF's formand blandt andet gik af og trak sig fra regeringssamarbejdet med S og R.
Goldman Sachs har været involveret i en række skandaler i forbindelse med finanskrisen, hvor man med den ene hånd tilbød højrisikolån til boligkøbere, samtidig med at man med den anden hånd spekulerede i, at boligmarkedet ville kollapse.
Det er dog stadig en af verdens største investeringsbanker.
Prestigefyldt titel
Bruun er nu blevet forfremmet til partner, som er en af de mest prestigefyldte titler på Wall Street, i forbindelse med den årlige udnævnelse af et større antal partnere i investeringsbanken.
Ifølge Bloomberg er mindst to andre af de nye partnere fra Danmark; nemlig Marie Louise Kirk og Klaus Bjerre Toft.
Også tidligere statsminister Anders Fogh Rasmussen arbejder for Goldman Sachs, han blev sidste år hyret som konsulent og rådgiver i Dong-sagen.
Goldman Sachs investering i Dong steg i fra otte milliarder kroner til 17,4 milliarder kroner i værdi i løbet af de to år, hvor amerikanerne var aktionærer.

Death threats… by phone and in writing. Blackmail efforts for over a million dollars. Possible attempted murder by sabotaging car brakes. Anonymous calls to Child Protective Services saying my children are in imminent danger. This might sound like the plot for an invigorating thriller film. I wish that’s all it was – but this is my life as it stands today.
I am sharing information that, while hard to believe for many people, would utterly transform our society if it were true. We have been driving through beautiful and desolate geography, and I have been mostly unplugged from the Internet. On August 5th, I received a newsletter notification that David Wilcock had published a new article on his website Divine Cosmos. I was unable to read the article at the time due to all the driving. I did not realize yet that David had taken steps to defend himself against severe attacks against him and me that have been ongoing for all of 2017.
When I woke up the next morning, I noticed that David had sent me a few emails and Skype messages. He was describing the “hack attacks” that were occurring on his website after publishing his article. He stated that a person had left a comment on that article claiming responsibility for these aggressive and damaging hacks. The person threatened to release a “data dump” that would “ruin us both” if David did not make a grandiose, public “dumping” of me – cutting all personal and professional ties.
David had already privately informed me about being threatened in an extremely similar fashion through one of his once-trusted insiders on the phone, as of July 3rd. Some of the same phrases were used in both threats. This showed that the JackSmith message was related to the threat David had received by phone. Og med egeninteresser. Og med alle mulige hensyn på kryds og tværs. Og med forhistorier. Og med vennetjenster. Og med ben som er blevet delt ud - eller skal deles ud i fremtiden.
Derfor er politik i praksis sjældent særligt principiel eller - for den sags skyld - helt nem at forudsige.
Mange undrer sig nok for tiden, hvor Liberal Alliance tilsyneladende holder en hånd over formanden for Danmarks Radios bestyrelse, selvom Danmarks Radio under hans formandskab har været en langt katastrofe af misbrug af licens-kroner.
Især undrer Liberal Alliances stædige insisteren på at lade DR-formanden fortsætte til medieforliget udløber, nu da regeringens store partier Dansk Folkeparti og Venstre med god grund udtrykker ønske om at få ham fjernet fra formandsposten.

Stort set alle partier prøver lykken med DR-sagen om kulturminister Mette Bock og DR-bestyrelsesformand Michael Christiansen – og alle forsøger de at score billige politiske point ved at puste sig op og spille hårde.
Men Danmarks Radio har igen og igen under den nuværende formand Michael Christiansen vist at de er bedøvende ligeglade med trusler henstillinger fra folketingspolitikere. For det bliver jo altid ved truslerne.

An Elite city banker has killed himself at the London Stock Exchange
A high-level senior investment banker has leaped to his death from a 7th-floor balcony in the London Stock Exchange building.
The man jumped from a glass walkway of the British capital’s busy financial hub and landed in the front lobby at around 9.45am UK time.
He was pronounced dead at 10.10am shortly after police arrived, although it’s believed the fall would’ve killed him instantly.
Although he has yet to be named by police, workers described him a “one of the bigwigs”.
According to one of the witnesses, he “ran along the walkway shouting and put one hand on the glass wall and jumped over it with both feet.”
“He didn’t even hesitate. He was shouting, ‘the end is coming! Get out while you still can!'”

Wasserman Schultz, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) who was forced to step down over Wikileaks revelations that she worked against Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign in favor of Hillary Clinton, fired Awan on July 25.
The indictment charges Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, 33, who also worked as a congressional IT aide, with making false statements on an application to obtain home equity lines of credit on two properties they rented out.
