Evan at FFTF - We can’t afford to lose

In less than 24 hours, pro-Internet senators will move to force a vote to save net neutrality. After that, the vote will be imminent and could come as soon as next week. This is going to be nail-bitingly close, and we can’t afford to lose.

So we’re crowdfunding hard-hitting newspaper ads targeting the most important undecided senators just before the vote. Will you chip in?

The FCC, at the behest of former Verizon lawyer Ajit Pai, voted to end net neutrality in December. Their decision would let companies like Comcast and Verizon dictate everything you can see and do online, controlling where you get information, how you listen to music, and which websites and apps you use.

But we only have a few short weeks left to convince the Senate and House to vote to overrule the FCC—meaning that we’re almost out of time to save net neutrality.

We already have 50 votes committed in the Senate, and we only need a simple majority to win. If we seize this moment right before the vote, there’s a chance that we could unlock a small landslide of Republican lawmakers breaking ranks to help save net neutrality.

But the closer we get to the vote, the more Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T are spending on lobbying, fake op-eds, misleading ads, and astroturf campaigns to try to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Here’s how we fight them: chip in for our crowdfunded newspaper ads that will run in the most important states right before the Senate vote.

Big, prominent newspaper ads in local papers are cost-effective and impossible for these lawmakers to ignore. Each ad will highlight the number of residents and small businesses in that state that have spoken out in support of net neutrality, making the message even more powerful.

But the deadline to get them submitted in time to run before the vote is the end of the day today, and we still need raise the money to make it possible. Will you chip in?

Yes! I’ll chip in to help fund newspaper ads in key states to save net neutrality.

Thanks for all you do,
