I denne juni måned var der mange områder på kloden som så voldsomme skybrud af alle former og størrelser; fra voldsomme hagl og tordenstorme i dele af Asien (nogle af dem bringende fisk, rejer og blæksprutter) og Europa, til en utrolig blanding af orkankraftige vinde, kraftige regnskyl og oversvømmelser i USA, Mexiko og dele af Sydamerika.

Vulkansk aktivitet fortsatte med at slå nye rekorder på kloden. Kilauea vulkanen fortsatte med at bringe kaos på den store ø på Hawaii, ødelæggende huse og dækkende området med giftige gasser. Imens, efter flere år med fortsat aktivitet, så brød Guatemala's ildvulkan i et voldsomt udbrud, forårsagende mindst 109 omkomne, Hundreder af personer er stadigvæk meldt savnet og hele byer er dækket af aske meters højde.

Ud over den spektakulære natur af disse udbrud, så er det vigtige punkt at holde sig for øje, det at denne aske mætter atmosfærens øverste lag, som reflekterer solens stråler og foranlediger fremmer vandkondensering og isformelse. Dette er selvfølgelig ikke gode nyheder givet den fortidenværende solminimum.

Det er ikke umuligt at mens tiden skrider fren, så vil vil de globale temperaturer fortsætte med at styrtdykke og givet de store mængder af nedbør som der kommer ned, så kunne den næste vinter blive noget af en hård oplevelse for mange på den Nordlige Halvklode.

Nu vi taler om kolde temperaturer, så fortsætter sne uden for sæsonen for overskrifter selv gennem sent i foråret og begyndelsen af sommeren på tværs af den nordlige og sydlige halvdel af kloden. Korte kuldedyk ramte USA, Canada, Chile, Ukraine og Østrig; overraskende befolkningen og beskadigende afgrøderne.

Stærkere haglstorme og større hagl er også blevet registreret over hele verden. USA, Grækenland, Italien, Serbien, Indien og Rusland var de mest berørte deraf i denne måned.

 Vi når kun Paris-målet, hvis vi binder CO2 i jord og skov, fortæller Venstres sveddryppende klimaminister Lars Christian Lilleholt.

Der pludselig har fået meget travlt i takt med konsekvenserne af tørken bliver stadig mere synlige.

Vi har ingen Planet B.

Menneskeheden står over for en enorm klimaudfordring, og vi kan kun nå målet i Paris-aftalen, hvis vi finder metoder til at binde CO2 fra luften i landbrugsjord, skove og i undergrunden.

Sådan lyder det nu fra energi- og klimaminister Lars Christian Lilleholt (V).

En nedskæring af CO2-udslippet alene kan ikke redde os, erkender han nu uden at påpege, at klimatologerne i årevis har gjort gældende, at temperaturene også vil være stigende år efter, at CO2-udledningerne er stoppet.

Police are responding to a report of gunshots at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, according to local media.

An active investigation is underway, with authorities conducting a floor-by-floor search of the building, ABC 7 reported. A call was made to authorities shortly after 9:30am local time on Wednesday, NBC 4 reported.

The shots occurred on the fourth floor of the hospital, according to a reporter for local news website LoHud.

"I arrived to the hospital and I was notified by other hospital personnel that they had been evacuated and that there was apparently a shooter on the fourth floor of the hospital," Westchester Medical Center employee Jaime Kuhn told LoHud.

The fourth floor of the hospital is reportedly where the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is located.

Authorities have confirmed that the scene is active, but have declined to provide further details. It was not immediately clear whether anyone had been shot.

New York Daily News cited reports which stated that the shooter was a man who first shot his wife and then himself. That report remains unconfirmed at this time.

Valhalla, which has a population of 3,000, is located 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of midtown Manhattan.

The US Senate Intelligence Committee has called WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to testify in the case on alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election in a closed interview, WikiLeaks said in a tweet. According to the whistleblower organization, the letter containing the request was delivered via the US Embassy in London.

 WikiLeaks legal team said in the tweet that it is currently considering the offer by the US Senate Committee, but noted that the process of giving testimonies must "conform to a high ethical standard."
