Snowden: Ex-CIA Director Petraeus ‘shared far more classified info than I ever did’

Whistleblower Edward Snowden is surprised at the leniency shown to CIA Director General David Petraeus, who is in the running for Secretary of State. He “shared information that was far more highly classified than I ever did,” he told Yahoo Global News.

By Snowden’s account, Petraeus – who shared top secret military information with his lover and biographer – should have gotten far less leniency, especially given that he was doing it for personal benefit.

Nonetheless, it is Snowden who is being pursued under the Espionage Act on multiple felonies, including violations of the Act and theft of government property – and forced to live out his life in exile in Moscow.

Petraeus, by contrast, never “spent a single day in jail,” Snowden told Katie Couric in an exclusive interview.

Hans far var en driftig forretningsmand, der var kendt for at satse lidt for meget, og som endte med at miste familiens stolthed, varehuset Magasin. Men så overtog baronens søn faderens forretninger. Og han har siden vist, at han foruden at have talent for at feste med de kongelige også har en så god forretningssans, at han nu er milliardær.

Han bor ikke langt væk fra offentlighedens bevågenhed på et gammelt familiegods på landet. Han droppede ud af gymnasiet, og så finder man ham ofte i de kulørte blade – gerne med enten sin kone, den tidligere baronesse Caroline Fleming eller kronprinsesse Mary ved sin side........

The very fact that we’re learning about Pizzagate indicates they’re being exposed. Given the nature and extent of this curse, it will be a slow process. Central is the fact that taking these people down is synonymous with destroying the entire corrupt Western political, corporate and financial power structure. But it will succeed.

NASA finds earth-like planet that may harbor aliens, but can be confirmed only in 2017

Recently, NASA's Kepler's K2 mission journey uncovered a new planet. Called the K2-3d, it is thought to be harboring alien life.

Taking great interest in the new planet, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan found that it was about 150 million light-years away from the Earth. It was found to be 1.5 times bigger than the Earth, while it orbits a star just half the sun in size. One revolution lasts 45 days.

Even though it is quite some distance away, the Space.com says that the K2-3d planet shares man similarities with the Earth, which might harbor and maintain life.

The characteristics include a warm and tolerable atmosphere, quite similar to the earth. It also appears to be hosting water as well as a star orbiting nearby. Hence, the possibility of life on this planet is very high.

While there is no way of confirming these speculations, such studies take a longer time to prove than other space-related studies. The theories are most likely to be confirmed in the coming year.

NASA will launch the Hubble Telescope in the coming year in order to go for a "more in-depth examination" of the likely planet. The objective of NASA scientists would be to find two important characteristics that would confirm its ability to host life: clouds and hydrogenic atmosphere. The attempt and hope is to discover "a hydrogen-rich atmosphere, or a blanket of clouds," says Dr Björn Benneke at the California Institute of Technology. If this happens, the K2-3d planet will be the center for further in-depth and comprehensive research, confirming how much life it can hold. "'If we found any signal, then we would hit K2-3d extremely hard with James Webb Space Telescope [Nasa's successor to the Hubble telescope, which will launch in 2018],' Dr Benneke said

She described a November 14 incident where helicopters were encircling protesters at night with no lights on. She says from 1:40 to 2:20 am, an aircraft was circling the encampment. Then, at 5:30 am an aircraft was observed that looked like a crop duster: she described 2 hoses under each wing and suspects they were spraying some kind of chemical or bacterial agent on them.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said on Sunday it turned down a permit for a controversial pipeline project running through North Dakota, in a victory for Native Americans and climate activists who have protested against the project for months.

A celebration erupted at the main protest camp in Cannon Ball, North Dakota, where the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and others have been protesting against the 1,172-mile (1,885-km) Dakota Access Pipeline.

It may prove to be a short-lived victory, however, because Republican President-elect Donald Trump has said he supports the project. Trump takes over from Democratic President Barack Obama on Jan. 20 and policy experts believe he could reverse the decision if he wanted to.

The line, owned by Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners LP, had been complete except for a segment planned to run under Lake Oahe, a reservoir formed by a dam on the Missouri River.

That stretch required an easement from federal authorities. The Obama administration delayed a decision on the permit twice in an effort to consult further with the tribe.

"The Army will not grant an easement to cross Lake Oahe at the proposed location based on the current record," a statement from the U.S. Army said.

Jo-Ellen Darcy, the Army's Assistant Secretary for Civil Works, said in a statement the decision was based on a need to explore alternate routes for the pipeline, although it remained unclear what those alternatives would be.
