UFO? Meteor? Blast? Massive light flash over Russian Urals stuns locals, scientists

An extraordinary bright orange flash has lit up the sky in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region in the Urals. While locals captured the massive ‘blast’ on numerous cameras, both scientists and emergency services still struggle to explain the unusual event.

Dark evening skies in the town of Rezh in Sverdlovsk region near Russia’s Ekaterinburg turned bright orange for some ten seconds on November 14, with the event being caught on several cameras by the locals.

A driver filmed the massive flash with his dashcam, later posting the video on YouTube, with more people commenting they’ve seen it too. Teenagers in the town of Rezh also filmed the phenomenon with a mobile phone.

Theories of what might have caused the “blast” appeared both on social and traditional media, with a new meteorite or military exercise in the region being among the top guesses. Regional emergency services said no accidents in connection with the event had been recorded. No sound of explosion has been reported either.

According to E1.ru, the emergency officials suggested the military were behind the flash, as they might have had a scheduled explosive ordnance disposal procedure. The city administration has also said such ammunition disposal might have taken place, while the military themselves denied they were behind the mystery.

“No exercise and training were underway on that day, and no military units are based in the region, so we have nothing to do with it,” a military press service told E1.ru

Kissinger Warns "We Need A New World Order"; Ukraine Should Forget Crimea & NATO

Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger spoke about global threats, the secession of Crimea and Ukraine's NATO accession

Mr. Kissinger said that there currently is an urgent need for a new world order, but its coming into being will be long and complicated.

"There are no universally accepted rules," said Mr. Kissinger in an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel. "There is the Chinese view, the Islamic view, the Western view and, to some extent, the Russian view. And they really are not always compatible."

Speaking of Crimea’s accession to Russia, he noted that this is a special case, as Ukraine and Russia were one country for a long time. In his view, the West must recognize its mistakes.

"Europe and America did not understand the impact of these events, starting with the negotiations about Ukraine's economic relations with the European Union and culminating in the demonstrations in Kiev," said Mr. Kissinger. "All these, and their impact, should have been the subject of a dialogue with Russia."

He is sure that Ukraine has always had a special significance for Russia. Failure to understand this was fatal, and the Ukrainian authorities can forget about the Crimean peninsula.

"Nobody in the West has offered a concrete program to restore Crimea," said Mr. Kissinger. "Nobody is willing to fight over eastern Ukraine."

In his opinion, introducing anti-Russian sanctions was a mistake.

"We have to remember that Russia is an important part of the international system, and therefore useful in solving all sorts of other crises, for example in the agreement on nuclear proliferation with Iran or over Syria," Mr. Kissinger said. "This has to have preference over a tactical escalation in a specific case."

He added that Ukraine should not hope to become a member of NATO in the foreseeable future, as the alliance will never vote unanimously for the accession of Ukraine.

The completion of all the requisite agreements, treaties, sign-offs and other functions of the Global Reset have been completed, and the advent of the new TRN (Treasury Reserve Note) is scheduled to be implemented on November 20, 2014.

We have been apprised that the schedule of the GCR (Global Currency Reset) after the official announcement of the TRN is measured in days if not hours.

After the GCR, the official historic bond redemptions will be announced. At this time, all six official channels for this official redemption period are on standby and completing the required loading of funds to the redemption accounts before the announcement. It is anticipated that this will occur in the next week.


It is also anticipated that the RV (Revaluation) of the dinar, dong and other currencies will follow the GCR more or less in parallel.

The process will complete well before the Christmas holiday season, and all currencies will become Basel III compliant.

This global event has been decades in the making, and the royal families and other sovereigns in concert with the Chinese Family have finally "broken through" the various obstacles placed before them in the implementation of the Global Reset. All institutions, agencies, and regulatory authorities are nowon standby to support the transition.

Landa Project fundings will begin by end of this month as first funds to accounts are underway now. It is estimated that it will take about one week to set the infrastructure in place after clearance of first funds.

​Organized and systemic abuse of children is ‘widespread’ in England, MPs have warned, following the publication of the Rotherham abuse scandal report on Tuesday.

The report, conducted by the Communities and Local Government Committee, said Rotherham Council had failed victims of child abuse in the town, adding there needed to be a full review of child protection services across the country.

The MP’s investigation was prompted by a report published earlier this year by Professor Alexis Jay, who revealed that an estimated 1,400 children had been victims of child abuse rings between 1997 and 2013.

According to the report, many of the victims were young, ethnically white girls, who were targeted by sex abuse gangs dominated by British men of Pakistani descent. However, the report did not make any causal link to overt religious or racial motivations.

However, the report claimed the Council’s child protection measures, while in place, were dysfunctional and “divorced from reality.”

MPs also criticized the schools watchdog Ofsted for failing to lift the lid on Rotherham abuse, despite carrying out multiple council inspections. Ofsted is due to give new evidence before the committee in the coming months.

“On the evidence we took, the alarming conclusion is that Rotherham was not an outlier and that there is a widespread problem of organized child sexual exploitation in England,” the report says.

The report also highlights governmental issues that may have led to the abuse going unnoticed, including poor advice from council officers, inadequate child protection measures and the “single party supremacy” of Labour councilors in the area.

“It’s vital local authorities across the country now ensure their scrutiny, governance, and leadership is fit and ready to identify and combat child sexual exploitation in their communities,” said the chair of the committee Clive Betts MP.

The Rotherham abuse inquiry resulted in a number of high profile resignations. In August, the Rotherham council leader stood down over accusations the administration had failed children in the area, while in September, controversial Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright was forced to resign, despite initially refusing to do so.

Head of Children’s Services Joyce Thacker also resigned that month.

“Repeated Ofsted inspections in Rotherham failed to lift the lid on the council's shameful inability to tackle child sexual exploitation,” Betts said.

“Arrangements should be put in place to bring to account not just council officers still in post, but those who have moved on from an authority before serious questions about their performance emerge,” he added.

Rotherham’s current council leader Paul Lakin said he welcomed the committee’s findings and that he had taken measures to make the council more transparent as a result of the inquiry.

Lakin also said the council planned to bring in an external audit team to continue investigating missing cases of child abuse in Rotherham.

Men det skal være slut nu, hvis det står til regeringens støtteparti SF.

”Det støder min retsfølelse, at man ikke kan straffe de her mennesker. De får lov til at slippe afsted med hustruvold og at være flugtbilist. Jeg synes faktisk, at man bør tage det her op i Udenrigsministeriet, om tiden ikke er løbet fra, at diplomater skal være beskyttet af immunitet. Det bør vi se på internationalt,” siger retsordfører Karina Lorentzen (SF), der også er formand for Folketingets Retsudvalg, til metroxpress.

Udenrigsministeriet ønsker dog ikke at udlevere tre af sagerne, ligesom de ikke vil oplyse diplomaternes nationalitet i de 19 sager af diplomatiske hensyn.

Indonesia still performs ‘virginity tests’ on female police job applicants - HRW

Indonesia’s practice of subjecting would-be female police officers to ‘virginity tests’ is “discriminatory and a form of gender-based violence,” that has to be stopped, Human Rights Watch says.

“Police authorities in Jakarta need to immediately and unequivocally abolish the test, and then make certain that all police recruiting stations nationwide stop administering it,” Nisha Varia, associate women’s rights director at Human Rights Watch, said in the statement released on Tuesday.

The watchdog interviewed female police officers in six Indonesian cities to find out if women applying for a job in law enforcement still have to undergo virginity tests, despite previous promises by police officials to abolish the practice.

The video with the interviews is now posted on the Human Rights Watchdog official YouTube feed. The women, hiding their faces from cameras and concealing their names, say they had to go through the pain and humiliation of the ‘two-finger test’, which HRW describes as an archaic and discredited practice.

 

“Entering the virginity test examination room was really upsetting,” one 24-year-old woman recalls. “I feared that after they performed the test I would not be a virgin anymore. It really hurt. My friend even fainted because ... it really hurt, really hurt.”

The requirement for undergoing the test is posted on Indonesia national police’s official website.

"In addition to the medical and physical tests, women who want to be policewomen [sic] must also undergo virginity tests,” it reads. “So all women who want to become policewomen should keep their virginity."

Indonesian police spokesman Maj. Gen. Ronny Sompie urged people not "respond negatively" to the tests, explaining that they are done to ensure the applicants do not have sexually-transmitted diseases, AP reported.

"All of this is done in a professional manner and did not harm the applicants," Sompie said.

Testimonies recorded by the HRW, however, indicate the opposite. 

 

“I don’t want to remember those bad experiences,” a 19-year-old woman said. “It was humiliating. Why should we take off our clothes in front of strangers? Yes, [the virginity testers] were women, but they were total strangers. It was discriminatory. It is not necessary. I think it should be stopped.”

Currently women account for only 3 percent of 400,000 police officers in Indonesia. The National Police force plans a massive increase in the number of policewomen, though. By December there are expected to be 21,000 female police officers, or 5 percent of the total police force.

Human Rights Watch has also documented the practice of virginity tests for policewomen in other countries including Egypt, India and Afghanistan.

Last year, some education officials in Indonesia proposed that virginity tests be introduced for teenage schoolgirls, causing an uproar.
