A strong tsunami triggered by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake has hit a coastal Indonesian city, officials say.

Waves of up to 2m (6.6ft) high swept through Palu on Sulawesi island, not long after authorities had lifted a tsunami warning.

Video on social media shows people screaming and fleeing in panic and a mosque amongst the buildings damaged.

Officials have reported five deaths – but it is not clear if those were as a result of the tsunami.

Last month, a series of earthquakes struck the Indonesian island of Lombok, killing hundreds of people – the biggest on 5 August killed more than 460.

The earthquake hit just off central Sulawesi at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles) just before 18:00 (11:00 GMT), the US Geological Survey said.

A tsunami warning was issued, but lifted within the hour.

The dramatic video footage of the tsunami hitting Palu shows the high waves sweeping away several buildings and then the large tilted mosque in the town, about 80km from the quake’s epicentre.

Controversy continues to swirl around Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing to become a Supreme Court Justice over accusations of sexual of impropriety dating back to when he was 17 years of age. Media coverage has been overwhelmingly negative, as evidenced by non-partisan news analysts, thereby raising suspicion that this is more than simply another example of partisan politics, but a Deep State effort to sabotage his candidacy.

Why would the Deep State be targeting Kavanaugh in this way? An answer comes from some of the cases predicted by the military intelligence group Q to soon appear on the Supreme Court calendar. These anticipated cases involved challenges to the legality of upcoming military trials of Deep State officials, and the rights of US citizens being tried in such courts.

On September 5, Q drew readers attention to a question and answer exchange between Kavanaugh and Senator Lindsay Graham during his confirmation hearing. Q related it to an Executive Order issued by Donald Trump on December 21, 2017 declaring a state of national emergency and Deep State panic over its members being subjected to military trials of US citizens.

NASA Mars Rover finds chemical which indicates that living beings once called the Red Planet home.


SCIENTISTS have found key evidence which suggests life may once have existed on Mars.

Nasa's Curiosity rover has detected boron, a key ingredient for life, on the dusty surface of the Red Planet.

The discovery is a huge boost in the hunt for extraterrestrials and could back up a theory suggesting life on Mars may have been forced underground when disaster turned the planet into a "frigid desert".

Patrick Gasda, a postdoctoral researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory said: "Because borates may play an important role in making RNA - one of the building blocks of life - finding boron on Mars further opens the possibility that life could have once arisen on the planet.

"Borates are one possible bridge from simple organic molecules to RNA. Without RNA, you have no life.

"The presence of boron tells us that, if organics were present on Mars, these chemical reactions could have occurred."

RNA is ribonucleic acid, a nucleic acid present in all modern life which is involved in the decoding and expression of genes from DNA
