The newly-hired pastor greets his parishioners for the first time – dressed as a homeless beggar on the steps of their church. Asking for money for food.

Everyone except one man passes him by without paying notice.

He comes inside and is asked to sit at the back of the church.

Finally he is introduced and comes to the front of the church to address his new parishioners….

Sammen med de øvrige skandinaviske lande er vi nemlig de mindst korrupte og mest tillidsfulde lande i verden. Der er bestemt korruption i Skandinavien, men det står uendelig meget værre til i hovedparten af den øvrige del af verden. Korruptionsniveauet, som det opfattes af erhvervsfolk og eksperter i de enkelte lande, er på globalt plan voldsomt stort. Et sted mellem 80 og 85 procent af verdens befolkninger bor i stater, hvor det stærkt ødelæggende fænomen er meget udbredt. Den dårlige nyhed er, at det ikke går den rigtige vej med bekæmpelsen af korruptionen i hovedparten af verdens lande. Samtidig ved vi fra forskningen, at det generelt har stærkt negative konsekvenser for den økonomiske vækst, befolkningens sundhed, social tillid, politisk legitimitet og befolkningens livskvalitet. Det er enorme summer, der årligt forsvinder fra de officielle økonomier med store skadelige konsekvenser for økonomien, velfærden samt mulighederne for den almene befolkning til følge. Både politikere og embedsmænd misbruger statsapparatet og stjæler landets ressourcer og skatteydernes penge. I en god del af verdens lande er normen for offentligt ansatte og politikere, at jobbet anvendes som en platform til at berige sig selv. Offentlige midler havner altså i de forkerte lommer og ryger ind på for eksempel schweiziske bankkonti i stedet for at blive investeret til det fælles bedste i form af uddannelse, sundhed, retssikkerhed, sociale foranstaltninger, flere iværksættere, bedre infrastruktur og miljøbeskyttelse .."
