The last time there was a widespread physical gold counterfeiting scare was in the summer of 2012 when as we reported the discovery of a single 10 oz Tungsten-filled gold bar in Manhattan’s jewelry district led to a panic among the dealer community, which then resulted in local jewelry outlets discovering at least ten more fake 10-ounce “gold bars” filled with Tungsten. Fast forward to today when a similar instance of gold counterfeiting has been discovered, this time in Canada, and where the fake bar in question had been “certified” by the highest possible authority.

According to CBC, the Royal Canadian Mint is investigating how a sealed, “pure gold” wafer with proper mint stampings has emerged as a fake. According to the Canadian press, the one-ounce gold piece, which was supposed to be 99.99% pure, was purchased by an Ottawa jeweller on Oct. 18 at a Royal Bank of Canada branch. The problem emerged when tests of the bar showed it may contain no gold at all. And, when neither the mint nor RBC would take the bar back, jeweler Samuel Tang contacted CBC news.

“Who is going to make sure those [gold wafers] are real?” asked Tang. “I am worried there are more of those [gold wafers] out there, and no one knows.”

Following the news, RBC felt an obligation to pick up the bar and returned it to the mint for testing, refunding Tang the $1,680 purchase price.

The Royal Canadian Mint said in a statement to CBC it is in process of testing the bar, “although the appearance of the wafer and its packaging already suggests that it is not a genuine Royal Canadian Mint product.”

Questions about the fake bar’s origins aside, a more immediate concerns is that, just like in 2012, if there is one fake bar, there are likely many more. William Rentz, a professor at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management and an expert on investments and equity, says the discovery is “troubling.”

“A currency counterfeiter doesn’t make just one fake $50 bill,” he said. “They make a whole lot of them. So I would suspect this might just be the tip of the iceberg.”

While the RCMP said they are aware of the incident, no formal complaint has yet been made.

As CBC details, the mystery of the fake gold began on Oct. 18, when Tang purchased what he thought was a 99.99% pure gold wafer from an RBC branch just across the road from his Glebe-area boutique, Joy Creations.

He carried the business-card-sized bar, still sealed in its Royal Canadian Mint blister-pack, back to his shop.

His goldsmith, Dennis Barnard, said he cut open the plastic mint packing and placed the one-ounce wafer in a hand-cranked jeweller’s tableting mill.

“I thought my age was catching up with me — because it was so hard to roll,” said Barnard

Once doubts emerged about the integrity of the gold bar, Barnard tried bending the wafer, as pure gold is usually pliable and can be bent easily. Instead, the goldsmith said the wafer snapped, leaving a jagged line.

The abstract, titled HCG Found in WHO Tetanus Vaccine in Kenya Raises Concern in the Developing World, written by lead author, John W. Oller and Christopher A. Shaw, and published at Scientific Research, states that the “family planning” drugs the WHO was developing in the 1970s have been added to the tetanus vaccine widely given throughout Kenya and other African countries. By the WHO’s admission, this vaccine could have been given in as many as 18 countries.

The paper reads,

“In 1993, WHO announced a “birth-control vaccine” for “family planning”. Published research shows that by 1976 WHO researchers had conjugated tetanus toxoid (TT) with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) producing a “birth-control” vaccine.

“Conjugating TT with hCG causes pregnancy hormones to be attacked by the immune system. Expected results are abortions in females already pregnant and/or infertility in recipients not yet impregnated. Repeated inoculations prolong infertility.

The authors of the paper point out reason for concern, as invariably people who think they are just getting a shot to protect them against tetanus, are really signing away their fertility rights.

What is even more distressing is that WHO researchers are currently working on more potent anti-fertility vaccines using recombinant DNA. In research already concluded on animals, a vaccine has been developed which renders a male receiver “castrated” in a single dose.

Why would the WHO be developing these vaccines under the auspices of tetanus, or any other disease, instead of calling them exactly what they are – sterilization vaccines?

Brown was the only child featured in a lineup of 13 actors and actresses who “prove that Television has never been hotter” and “sexier” according to a story from W Magazine.

The online excerpt features a quote from Brown in which she discusses how she was asked to change her appearance in order to play the role of “Eleven” on Stranger Things.

“During the screen test for Stranger Things, one of the directors came up to me and said, ‘Bzzz,’ over my head,” Brown said. “He then asked, ‘Are you ready?’ I was like, ‘For what?’ And he said, ‘To cut all your hair off!’ The next day I got the job and I cut it. My hair was down to here, but it’s only hair. After that, I was called ‘boy’ a lot.”

The Spanish version of the magazine translated the title to “Why is television sexier than ever?” according to a story from Play Radio FM, raising serious questions about why a 13-year-old is being referred to as “sexy,” or even “hot.”

One Twitter user responded to the magazine, writing, “She is 13. I repeat. 13. She is not a sexy woman, is a kid. Shame on all those publications sexualizing her.”

Brown was also featured on the cover of the Spanish magazine Mujer Hoy, or Woman Today, with the headline “Why We Love Millie.” The magazine featured a series of photos of Brown in “sexy” or suggestive poses.

A Twitter user posted the photos online, writing in Spanish, “Millie Bobby Brown is NOT a woman, she is a girl.”

Another Twitter user commented, “People are calling Millie Bobby Brown ‘sexy’ and uh Y’ALL ARE AWARE SHE IS 13 YEARS OLD RIGHT.”

Despite the attempt to marginalize the concept, “false flags” are so common that U.S. officials frequently use that phrase.

The Washington Post notes that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld approved as an acceptable interrogation method

A technique known as “false flag,” or deceiving a detainee into believing he is being interrogated by someone from another country.

NBC News points out:

In another document taken from the NSA by Snowden and obtained by NBC News, a JTRIG official said the unit’s mission included computer network attacks, disruption, “Active Covert Internet Operations,” and “Covert Technical Operations.” Among the methods listed in the document were jamming phones, computers and email accounts and masquerading as an enemy in a “false flag” operation. The same document said GCHQ was increasing its emphasis on using cyber tools to attack adversaries.

Washington’s Blog asked high-level NSA official Bill Binney* if he had heard of the term “false flags” when he was with the NSA.

Binney responded:

Sure, they were under deception and manipulation programs. I was not involved in doing them; but, I did have to figure out some that the other side was doing. The other side called them “dezsinformatsiya” and Manipulatsiya.”
