Selling marijuana to cancer patients may land Danish couple in jail for 10 yrs
Published time: 6 Oct, 2016 05:59
A Danish couple is facing up to 10 years in prison for providing
marijuana to people with cancer and other medical ailments. Although
the husband has admitted his guilt, his wife denies any wrongdoing.
Claus ‘Moffe’ Nielsen, who was arrested with his wife on Tuesday, told Danish tabloid BT that he wanted to supply ill Danes with cannabis to provide them with relief from their ailments.
Nielsen
said he realized the medical benefits of cannabis when he began taking
edible marijuana products for his osteoarthritis. He said he was always
aware his dealings were illegal, and that he might be arrested one day.......
The blinders are falling off like scales, to use the proverbial
expression, and Americans are becoming more and more aware of the
benefits of marijuana. The latest polls show Americans are in favor of
weed in states with November ballot initiatives to legalize recreational
and medical marijuana.
In November, Arizona, California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada
will vote on whether or not to fully legalize marijuana for recreational
use. And Florida will vote to legalize medical marijuana, joining over
two dozen other states and the District of Columbia who currently have
already legalized what many are calling a “wonder drug”.
The Washington Post’s Christopher Ingraham reported the ballot measures are likely to pass if nothing changes before November. In California, 60 percent of those polled favor legalization. In Nevada, 50 percent favor legalization to only 40 percent who oppose. In Arizona,
50 percent support legalization while 40 percent oppose the plant
becoming available to those 21 and over. In MA and ME, 53 percent favor
legal weed. And in the Sin City State of Nevada, those in favor make of
57 percent. Quite possibly the most surprising poll numbers come from
the Sunshine State of Florida where 70 percent are in favor of medical marijuana being made available to its citizens....
For ham
begyndte interessen for medicinsk cannabis for alvor for to år siden, da
rettigheder mht. narkometeret tilbage i 2013? Officielle forklaring : bekæmpe Rusmidler, narkotika og euforiserende stoffer, stofmisbrug. Fair nok.
ud over borgerne.
koger? Næppe.
90 procent af alle kræfttilfælde, stammer for vores miljø. Giftigt
godt".

Cannabis Indica trækker mod CB2. Dvs. Indica - giver mere søvn og ro,

Continuing cannabis prohibition becomes even more preposterous in
light of a recent archeological discovery. Many pot promoters are
already well aware that the forefathers of the United States utilized cannabis and hemp to become fruitful. Many more are cognizant that the false war on drugs was a way to squelch would-be activists who were fighting against war in Nixon’s time. Looking outside of the trillion-dollar prohibition industry into the archives of history, we can confirm that cannabis was not just accepted, but revered.
A 2,500-year-old
cannabis burial shroud was recently unearthed along the Silk Road in
Turpan, China. Archeologists found a grave thought to belong to a
35-year-old male who was wrapped in cannabis leaves. Some of the plants
were up to a meter long, and researchers believe they were used
ritually. Radiocarbon dating was used to verify the age of the mummy.
Archaeologist, Dr. Hongen Jiang, of the Graduate University of
Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, and his colleagues described the
discovery as “extraordinary” in the journal Economic Botany.
“The burial is one of 240 graves excavated at the Jiayi cemetery in Turpan, and is associated with the Subeixi culture
(also known as the Gushi Kingdom) that occupied the area between
roughly 3,000 to 2,000 years ago. At the time, Turpan’s desert oasis was
an important stop on the Silk Road. Cannabis plant parts have been found in a few other Turpan
burials, most notably in a contemporaneous burial in nearby Yanghai
cemetery discovered nearly a decade ago, which contained close to two pounds of cannabis seeds and powdered leaves.”
Humans have cultivated and used the flowering tops of the female cannabis plant, known colloquially as marijuana, since history was recorded. Archaeologists in Central Asia even found over 2 pounds of cannabis in a 2,700 year-old grave of a shaman.
Written and pictorial evidence of cannabis use is scattered throughout numerous cultures indicating a wide acceptance and use of the plant for thousands of years.
Federal prohibitions outlawing the therapeutic and recreational use of cannabis were first imposed by Congress with the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. Later, the plant’s organic compounds (cannabinoids) were classified as a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.
This classification puts the plant in the same pool as heroin and states that cannabis possesses “a high potential for abuse … no currently accepted medical use … [and] a lack of accepted safety for the use of the drug … under medical supervision.”
In contrast, cocaine and methamphetamine – illegal for recreational use, may be consumed under a doctors supervision and are classified as Schedule II drugs. Examples of Schedule III and IV drugs include anabolic steroids and Valium. Analgesics that contain codeine are defined by law as Schedule V drugs, the most lenient classification.

In April 2015 the National Institute of Drug Abuse acknowledged that cannabis kills cancer cells
and dramatically reduces the growth of new brain cancer cells. This was
a startling admission, considering that federal government’s position
on cannabis retains it as a Schedule 1 drug with “no medical benefit.”
Research has continued despite this roadblock, and now the
pharmaceutical industry might actually help overcome government’s
stubbornness about cannabis as medicine.
British company GW Pharmaceuticals has been testing cannabis extracts
for the past few years, and now has clinical evidence that certain
formulations reduce the mortality rate of people with glioblastoma
multiforme (GBM), a form of brain cancer that typically kills patients
within two years. Results of the ‘phase 2 proof of concept study’ were announced Feb. 7.
Combined with temozolomide, the current medication used to treat GBM, patients’ median survival was more than 550 days, compared to 369 days without the cannabis treatment. The CBD (cannabidiol)-THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) treatment helped produced an 83 percent one-year survival rate, compared with 53 percent for non-cannabis patients.... Read Entire Article »
Cannabis May Soon be Used in Stroke and Cardiac Emergencies
“Increasing evidence indicates that CBD is a molecule with potentially neuroprotective properties that can be used to treat neurodegenerative disorders,”
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 100 active cannabinoids in cannabis. It accounts for 40 percent of the plant’s extract and widely considered to be one of it’s most powerful constituents that heals cells.
Emergency teams in cardiac and stroke units may one day use CBD’s neuroprotective effects to prevent the onset of debilitating symptoms developing from stroke and cardiac arrest.
The reason cannabis is so effective medicinally is directly related to its ability to interact with receptors in the body which inhibit inflammation and prevent disease.
Cannabis does this so well, that few drugs can compete with its level of potency which come essentially with no side effects.
Switching From Smoking to Vaping Decreases Carcinogens by Almost 98 Percent
Posted: 12 Feb 2017 10:00 PM PST
The history of tobacco use has been plagued with misinformation in both scientific literature and mainstream publications.
A large majority of studies that have cast a negative light on tobacco have examined cigarette smoke which contains thousands of harmful chemicals.
However, tobacco was used medicinally for thousands of years. A new study illustrates how vaping has been shown to reduce carcinogens by almost 98 percent in former smokers who dropped their cigarette habit and switched to vaporizers.
Tobacco is an annual plant belonging to the eggplant family. It's cultivation can be traced back earlier over 8000 years ago. It enjoyed widespread medicinal use from the beginning of the 16th century to the end of the 19th century.

været interesseret i cannabis.
The war on cannabis that began in the 1930s seems to be coming to
an end. Research shows that this natural plant, rather than posing a
deadly danger to health, has a wide range of therapeutic benefits. But
skeptics question the sudden push for legalization, which is largely
funded by wealthy investors linked to Big Ag and Big Pharma.
In April, Pennsylvania became the 24th state to legalize medical cannabis, a form of the plant popularly known as marijuana. That makes nearly half of US states. A major barrier to broader legalization has been the federal law under which all cannabis – even the very useful form known as industrial hemp – is classed as a Schedule I controlled substance that cannot legally be grown in the US. But that classification could change soon. In a letter sent to federal lawmakers in April, the US Drug Enforcement Administration said it plans to release a decision on rescheduling marijuana in the first half of 2016.
The presidential candidates are generally in favor of relaxing the law. In November 2015, Senator Bernie Sanders introduced a bill that would repeal all federal penalties for possessing and growing the plant, allowing states to establish their own marijuana laws. Hillary Clinton would not go that far but would drop cannabis from a Schedule I drug (a deadly dangerous drug with no medical use and high potential for abuse) to Schedule II (a deadly dangerous drug with medical use and high potential for abuse). Republican candidate Donald Trump says we are losing badly in the war on drugs, and that to win that war all drugs need to be legalized.
But it is Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein who has been called “weed’s biggest fan.” Speaking from the perspective of a physician and public health advocate,Stein notes that hundreds of thousands of patients suffering from chronic pain and cancers are benefiting from the availability of medical marijuana under state laws. State economies are benefiting as well. She cites Colorado, where retail marijuana stores first opened in January 2014. Since then, Colorado’s crime rates and traffic fatalities have dropped; and tax revenue, economic output from retail marijuana sales, and jobs have increased.
Among other arguments for changing federal law is that the marijuana business currently lacks access to banking facilities. Most banks, fearful of FDIC sanctions, won’t work with the $6.7 billion marijuana industry, leaving 70% of cannabis companies without bank accounts. That means billions of dollars are sitting around in cash, encouraging tax evasion and inviting theft, to which an estimated 10% of profits are lost. But that problem too could be remedied soon. On June 16, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved an amendment to prevent the Treasury Department from punishing banks that open accounts for state-legal marijuana businesses.

“If cannabis were discovered in the Amazon rainforest today, people
would be clambering to make as much use as they could of all of the
potential benefits of the plant. Unfortunately, it carries with it a
long history of being a persecuted plant.” ~ Dr. Donald Abrams, Chief of Hematology Oncology at San Francisco General Hospital
Approximately 106,000 Americans die yearly from prescribed medications,
according to the American Medical Association. Even more frightening,
preventable medical errors account for a staggering 400,000 deaths in
the U.S. each year — and is considered the 3rd leading cause of death.
“It’s equivalent to 2,000 commercial jets taking off each year knowing
that they don’t have enough fuel to complete their journeys,” notes
Peter Edelstein M.D. “Would you allow your spouse to board one of those
planes? Your friend? A stranger?”
Good question. Increasingly, people in the West are seeking out
treatments that work harmoniously with the body, instead of against it —
in other words, they’re walking away from the medical establishment and
all its mishaps, mistakes and pharmaceutical drugs. A case in point is
cannabis, especially in its raw form.

There was a time not long ago when we didn’t know a thing about the medicinal uses of the cannabis plant.
In just a few decades, we’ve been flooded with information about a
plant that’s been suppressed for nearly a century but is finally being
recognized. It’s surprising we didn’t know all this sooner, but in my
opinion, it’s great that we’ve finally reached this point.
It makes sense that it took this long since governments around the
world have been focused on persecuting rather than utilizing or learning
about this beneficial plant. We might not know everything about it, but
we know a lot more than we did 40 years ago.
There’s still progress to be made, but we should be glad we’ve come this far.
An Overwhelming Amount of Information
The focus for this report will be the cannabis plant’s medicinal benefits.
I was surprised to be overwhelmed with so much information when I set
out to research this subject. This report will be longer than usual,
and we still won’t be able to cover everything here.
We’ll tackle as much information as we can, and along the way, we’ll
learn about the different kinds of oil extracted from the plant for
medicinal, recreational, dietary and industrial use.
It turns out cannabis isn’t just for smoking; little did we know here
in the U.S. until recently, its compounds can be extracted and used for
the purposes mentioned above and more.
Basic Facts About the Cannabis Plant
In their “Guide to Using Medical Cannabis”, Americans for Safe Access
describes cannabis as a flowering plant with fibrous stalks used for
paper, rope, clothing and building materials (among other things). (1)
The leaves, flowers and roots can be used medicinally or recreationally, and the seeds are a source of food and fuel. (1)
The leaves and flowers are consumed in various forms, one of which
involves the extraction of resin from them. This is achieved through
various methods. (1)
When the plant reaches maturity, the leaves and flowers are covered
with trichomes: tiny glands of resinous oil that contain cannabinoids
and terpenes which provide physical and psychoactive effects. (1)
There are over a hundred different types of cannabinoids and terpenes. (1)
Among them all, THC was the first to be discovered and remains the
most popular because it provides the strongest psychoactive effect. (1) The ratio of THC to other cannabinoids varies with different strains. (1)
Well-Known Cannabinoids (That Aren’t THC)
THC has been the primary focus of breeding and research due to its
psychoactive and therapeutic effects, but other cannabinoids provide
similar effects. (1)
Five other well-known cannabinoids are:
Believe it or not, marijuana actually has a long-standing use in Native American traditional medicine and was considered a cure-all in the early days of modern western medicine.
In fact, the plant was only outlawed from hospitals and doctor’s offices in the mid-1900s.
Thankfully, marijuana is gaining more and more traction in the United States as a respected medicinal treatment. Many people have even come forward with testimonies of having cured themselves of cancer thanks to the powerful plant.
However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not yet approved Cannabis as a treatment for cancer or any other medical condition, but many states have legalized its medicinal use (1).
Ironically, although the FDA refuses to recognize its value, cannabis-derived drugs like as dronabinol and nabilone have been approved for the treatment of cancer-related side effects.
Currently, there is research being conducted to create more marijuana-based drugs for diseases of the nervous and immune systems.

As of 1970, through the initiation of the Controlled Substances Act, marijuana continues to be classified as a Schedule I drug (like heroin, LSD and GHB), meaning that distinguished by having no accepted medical use and has a high potential for abuse (2).
Yet countless case studies dating back to the 1840s prove otherwise.
A respected study conducted in 1999 even found that cannabinoids likely had a natural role in pain modulation, control of movement, and memory function, and that the compounds played a complex role in immune response.
They also found that the substance had insignificant side effects, withdrawal symptoms and low potential of dependence, especially when compared to commonly used drugs. In fact, side effects were mostly positive and included better digestion, pain relief, euphoria and better sleep quality.
This is incomparable to the effects of chemotherapy, which can cause pain, nerve damage, hair loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, blood disorders, memory loss, reproductive disorders, damage to healthy cells, and the list goes on (3).
To top it off, cannabinoids were actually found to be superior to some chemotherapy treatment options in killing cancer cells.
