🤥 ~ (ENG) 'EU fraud hunters' (OLAF), Entrust Report Case To Danish State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International Crime (SØIK) // Ritzau // Microsoft News ~ | Blogger: 🗯️ Goddamn time, (sorry for language) that the European anti-fraud office OLAF has finalised an running ongoing investigation into the way money has been spent by the Movement for a Europe of Liberties and Democracy (MELD) and its affiliated foundation FELD, since 2016 ..."The Danish Euro MP Morten Messerschmidt was in charge of the foundation for a while, and it is alleged that during his tenure he misused funds to conduct Dansk Folkeparti’s municipal election campaign in Denmark. OLAF has accused Messerschmidt of delaying-tactics and not responding to its enquiries, reports TV2 Nyheder. “We asked in writing for an explanation a year ago. We’ve sent several reminders, but we’ve still not heard anything,” said OLAF’s chief investigator, Dominik Schichels" ~ (cphpost) ... Question remains, will the danish special police task unit (SØIK) Bagmandspolitiet, conduct any investigation themselves, or could pressure from the danish parliament, politicians and officials, behind the scene, KILL this story and leave it forever, untouched and unsolved... Meld og Feld har kanaliseret EU-midler for 4,4 millioner kroner til uretmæssige aktiviteter, konkluderer EU's svindeljægerkontor (Olaf) efter fire års efterforskning.

Sagen, som omfatter aktiviteter i flere EU-lande, overdrages nu til bagmandspolitiet, bekræfter en talsmand for Olaf til Ritzau.

Lidt under en fjerdedel af beløbet er allerede tilbagebetalt, hedder det i rapporten.

Olaf afslutter sagen med en anbefaling om tilbagebetaling til EU-Parlamentet.

- Olaf har også sendt efterforskningsrapporten til de kompetente juridiske myndigheder, så de kan følge op, siger talskvinde Jana Cappello hos Olaf.

Efterforskningen blev indledt i december 2015. Sagen har ifølge Olaf været meget kompleks.

- Det skyldes blandt andet antallet af lande, som Meld og Feld var aktive i, men også antallet af personer, som blev efterforsket og bredden af de aktiviteter, som har krævet verificering, siger talskvinden.
