Saturn's moon Enceladus , moon of Jupiter Europe , Pluto and its moon Charon , as well as the dwarf planet Ceres are potential homes for extraterrestrial, say scientists at the University of Texas in San Antonio and the Southwest Research Institute .
The issue is a process called radiolysis, which experts believe could generate life throughout the Universe.
All that is needed is a rocky core and water-based molecules, something that scientists have found in abundance in our Solar System.
The study found that a rocky nuclei of some planets and moons emit radiation that break the water molecules that, in turn, feed the microbial life.
Scientists conducted an experiment to predict how radiation would affect on internal oceans on planets like Pluto and Saturn's moon Europa.
Alexis Bouquet, lead author said: " The physical and chemical processes that follow the radiolysis release molecular hydrogen, which is a molecule of interest astrobiological ".
Pluto, as well as the moons of Saturn and Jupiter, is constituted by chrondite.
This means that the ocean water that permeates the porous rock of the core may be subjected to radiolysis, producing reactive hydrogen compounds and molecular oxygen, the building blocks for life.

" We know that there are these radioactive elements within icy bodies, but this is the first systematic look at the solar system for the estimation of radiolysis ".
" The results suggest that there are many potential targets for exploration out there, and this is exciting ," added co-author Dr. Danielle Wyrick, one of the leading scientists at the Southwest Research Institute's Space Science and Engineering Division.
What is radiolysis and because it shows that there is alien life?
