Military-industrial-complex World Wide Is Booming
Denmark, small as a peanut - Big as a giant? Why do we go to war?
Because we can, because it's easy, and because we have become accustomed to it...., Most European countries say no to a military attack on Syria, China and Russia also opposed the attack has no legal basis in the UN, it has a clear military target, and popular support for it is at best diffuse. Yet Denmark supports US military action against Assad's regime. The unconditional support may seem strange. It is not however.
The decision fits in with the Danish foreign and security policy, as it has looked since at least the mid-1990s. Although the Danish position is far from such. Norwegian and Swedish Governments, as expressing the government line continuity rather than change. The short answer to why Denmark goes to war is: Because we can, because it's easy, and because we have become accustomed to it. But to avoid the habits become policy is an ongoing debate on Danish foreign policy important. After the joint Nordic meeting with Obama in Stockholm citing Ritzau Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt (S) to support the Obama line in Syria "political, moral and diplomatic 'since the Americans now have' use of their closest allies." The Prime Minister will not take a position on a Danish military contribution. An educated guess is that the government will look favorably on a US request.
There is also a combination of political, moral, diplomatic and military reasons for government policy. They are in line with, since the 1990s, increasingly military activist foreign policy and the political logic that drives it..... Read the rest of the story in a Danish newspaper. information.dk
