Wired | ~ SCIENTISTS REVEAL THE FIRST PICTURE OF A BLACK HOLE ~ | .. The Event Horizon Telescope has captured a photo of a supermassive black hole at the center of M87, a galaxy 54 million light years away .. | Blogger: [🧙‍♂️Albert Einstein first predicted black holes in 1916 with his general theory of relativity. The term "black hole" was coined in 1967 by American astronomer John Wheeler, and the first one was discovered in 1971 ~ NASA🕳️] .. C'MON guys... Discovering of Black Holes is nothing new... On verdensalt, i'm more interesting in the unspoken word, rather than Black Holes from NASA portrays as "forbidden donut" and "spicy onion ring"... It is interesting that current scientific thought regarding black holes and wormhole travel is very similar to the Mayan cosmic conception that a dark road leads from the sky-cleft at the Galactic Center to a mystical underworld. In a few passages of the Indian spiritual poem, the Bhagavad Gita, one can find vivid descriptions of what could be a black hole sucking in the souls of dead warriors.. Is it a mere coincidence that astronomers have discovered (in 2014) that a super- massive black hole is present at the center of the Milky Way galaxy, in exactly the same region where the Mayans believe is present a hole in the sky that leads to the underworld?... Astronomers have been watching and waiting since 2011 to see what will happen when an encroaching cloud of gas sweeps near the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. It was in 2011 that astronomers in Germany announced the cloud's discovery and observed that it was accelerating fast towards our galaxy's center. In April 2013, data showed that part of the gas cloud had already passed closest to the black hole and that the cloud was under- going what astronomers sometimes call spaghettification - or the noodle effect. That is, they could see that the cloud was being stretched or elongated as it passed the hole, due to the hole's powerful gravity. Now astronomers are saying they expect the main encounter to happen soon! When it does, they hope they can figure out what's going on in the black hole's immediate vicinity. They might even see some gas disappear down the hole. Astronomers have been wondering for decades why the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy is so quiet. Now they will have a chance to learn what happens when the hole actually swallows something, in this case a cloud of gas with several times the mass of Earth. The gas cloud might slingshot around the hole, or it might be pulled in. We'll know … soon... Did it happened back in 2014 or now... When can we trust NASA?.. I still have so many unanswered questions... |
