A Japanese volcano made famous by a James Bond film could keep spewing ash and lava two miles into the air for months to come

  • Shinmoedake, which featured as villain's secret lair in Bond film, has erupted
  • It had been rumbling since March 1, but huge explosion occurred today
  • The eruption threw ash 3,650m into the sky, the most violent in seven years
  • As well as the ash and smoke, the massive eruption brought lava to the surface 
  • Sean Connery played agent James Bond in the 1967 hit You Only Live Twice
